Owner’s request and general condition of Volkswagen Touareg optics
Sometimes you want to change something in your favourite car, especially if a certain part already needs repair or restoration. The owner of a Volkswagen Touareg came to our service with just such a request — to perform a comprehensive restoration of the head optics, combining technical restoration with a stylistic update of the headlights.

During the inspection, it became clear that the headlights needed serious intervention. The glass had lost its transparency due to prolonged use, and there were scratches, chips and local yellowing, especially on one of the headlights. In addition, a serious problem was the heavy dusting of the light modules, which directly affected the brightness of the lighting.

Headlight disassembly and internal optics maintenance
To remove internal contamination, service specialists disassembled the Volkswagen Touareg headlights. This provided full access to the light modules and internal optics elements. After opening, the actual condition of the lenses became apparent — they were covered with a thick layer of dust and grime, which significantly reduced the efficiency of the light output. All internal elements were thoroughly cleaned of dust and dirt, which not only restored the quality of the light, but also significantly extended the life of the lenses.

Painting the internal elements of the headlights in matte black
After disassembling the optics, it became possible to perform additional stylistic improvements — painting the internal decorative elements of the headlights. It was decided to remove the factory chrome from the decorative masks and paint them in a matte black colour.
This approach makes the headlights look more restrained and modern. At the same time, it was decided not to remove the chrome from the lens masks in order to maintain the visual focus on the light modules.
After preparation, all elements were reassembled, the headlights were sealed with a new hermetic seam, the technological crystallisation time was observed, and a check was carried out to ensure there were no prerequisites for fogging.

Glass polishing, film protection and lamp replacement
After installing the headlights on the car, the specialists proceeded to grinding and polishing the headlight glass.
In several stages, cloudiness, scratches and traces of a worn protective layer were removed. When the condition of the glass reached a level as close as possible to the factory standard, the headlights were covered with SunTek anti-gravel polyurethane film, which protects against stones, ultraviolet rays and aggressive environments.
New Osram D1S bulbs were also installed in the headlights, after which the car was sent to a stand for professional light adjustment in accordance with DSTU and EEC standards.

The result: a refreshed look and improved light
Only after the lights had been precisely adjusted was the car handed over to the owner. The Volkswagen Touareg headlights took on a completely different look — more stylish thanks to the black matte elements and significantly better light output thanks to the cleaned lenses, new bulbs and correct adjustment.

As a result, the owner received not only an updated appearance of the optics, but also a real improvement in road lighting, which directly affects the safety and comfort of driving a car in the dark.
