Condition of Mazda 6 optics before work
A Mazda 6 arrived at our car light service in Kyiv, which would benefit from a complete preventive maintenance of its optics. The optimal solution in this case would be to open the headlights, perform preventive cleaning of the factory xenon lenses, and polish the inside and outside of the headlight glass.
However, the car owner decided to limit himself to only cosmetic restoration of the headlights, focusing on the external appearance of the optics.

The chosen format of work: only external polishing
The client deliberately refused to disassemble the headlights, clean the xenon lenses internally, and polish the glass from the inside. The main emphasis was placed on external polishing of the headlight glass with subsequent protection with SunTek polyurethane film.
This option allows you to refresh the appearance of the car and remove cloudiness, but does not solve internal problems with the optics, if they are already present.

Preparing Mazda 6 headlights for polishing
Before starting work, the service specialists prepared the optics for a cycle of polishing procedures. The headlight glass was cleaned and prepared for step-by-step processing from the outside.

External polishing process and film protection
Polishing was carried out in several stages using various abrasive and finishing pastes. This allowed us to remove cloudiness, minor scratches and traces of worn lacquer.
Since the factory lacquer coating on the glass is absent after polishing, the final stage was the application of SunTek protective polyurethane film. It performs several functions at once:
- protects the headlight glass from stones and sand;
- prevents the effects of ultraviolet radiation;
- extends the service life of the polishing result.

Summary of work and actual result
After external polishing and film application, the Mazda 6 headlights looked much better and neater. The transparency of the glass was restored, and the overall appearance of the car was refreshed.
At the same time, it should be understood that these optics still need a few more procedures to reach perfect condition — internal glass polishing and cleaning of cloudy xenon lenses. But, as they say, he who pays the piper calls the tune.
