When headlight maintenance becomes a necessity
Sooner or later, every car owner faces the issue of car optics maintenance. Some people find that the paint on their headlights peels off over time, while others find that dust accumulates on the lens, making the light dim and indistinct.
Very often, when headlights need to be opened for such work, owners want to modify or change the usual appearance of the headlights, making them more restrained or aggressive.

The condition of the Honda Civic 7 headlights before work began
Our car lighting service in Kyiv received headlights from a Honda Civic 7, which had been removed from the car in advance. The owner immediately determined the list of work that needed to be done as part of the preventive maintenance and renewal of the optics.

Planned work on the optics
The restoration plan was clearly defined:
- unpack the headlights;
- thoroughly clean the light module and all internal elements;
- remove the factory internal chrome;
- paint the internal elements in matte black;
- polish the outside of the headlight glass;
- protect the glass with SunTek polyurethane film.

Disassembly of headlights and painting of internal elements
The customer’s wishes are the conditions for the work of our service masters. The Honda Civic 7 headlights were carefully opened along the factory seam. All internal elements and light modules were thoroughly washed and cleaned of dust and traces of use.
After that, the chrome elements were prepared and painted in a matte black colour, which significantly changed the visual perception of the optics. After the painted parts were completely dry, the headlights were reassembled with a new sealed seam.
After the sealant crystallised, the specialists performed a test to check for the absence of prerequisites for the appearance of internal condensation.

Glass polishing and SunTek film protection
Once the tightness of the headlights was confirmed, it was time to polish the outer surface of the headlight glass. In several stages, the transparency of the glass was restored and traces of wear were removed. The final stage was to cover the glass with SunTek polyurethane protective film, which protects the headlights from ultraviolet rays, sand, small stones and premature ageing.

The result of maintenance and headlight painting
After all the work was completed, the Honda Civic 7 headlights had a completely new look. The black matte reflector made the optics more discreet and modern, while the clean internal elements and polished glass provided better light output.
Preventive maintenance combined with painting and film protection not only improves the appearance of the headlights, but also extends the service life of the optics without the need for expensive replacement.
