Why lens replacement was necessary
The owner of a Chevrolet Explorer contacted our service centre in Kyiv with a problem of significantly reduced headlight brightness. The car had previously been upgraded from halogen to xenon, but the installed xenon modules had completely lost their resource. The light output was dim, the headlights did not provide visibility on the road at night, which created an increased danger while driving.

Diagnostics of the optics condition
After dismantling the headlights, it was confirmed that:
- The lenses had lost their reflective properties
- Dust and traces of fogging had accumulated inside the optics
- The headlight glass had become cloudy and lost its transparency
This made it impossible to focus the light beam correctly. It was decided to completely replace the lenses and restore the optics from the inside.

Lens replacement and headlight restoration process
The headlights were carefully unpacked along the factory seam, the old xenon modules were removed, and the housing and reflectors were cleaned. New bi-xenon lenses were installed with precise positioning for perfect light geometry. After assembly, the headlights were tested for leaks to prevent fogging.

Headlight polishing and protection
After internal restoration, the headlight lenses were sanded and polished to restore their transparency and improve light transmission. For long-term protection, the headlight surface was covered with SunTek polyurethane film, which protects against chips, UV rays and re-fogging.

Light adjustment on the stand
The final stage was professional light adjustment on the stand in accordance with DSTU and ECE standards. This ensured a clear light-shadow boundary, powerful low and high beams without dazzling oncoming traffic.
