Title:

From standard halogen headlights to new optics

The base model Volkswagen Golf 7 had simple halogen optics without any additional technology. Over time, the light became weaker and no longer provided adequate illumination of the road.
A new solution — xenon and LED

The owner decided to go for a serious upgrade and install modern headlights from a later version of the Golf 7. They are equipped with lensed xenon and LED DRLs, and also use LEDs in the turn signals.
Wiring and programming modification

To make the new optics work, the auto electrician redesigned the wiring responsible for the headlights. In addition, the car was reprogrammed so that the system would ‘understand’ the new light sources — xenon and LED. This avoided errors and ensured stable operation of the optics.
Additional protection

To extend the service life of the headlights and protect them from scratches and clouding, the new Volkswagen Golf 7 headlights were covered with SunTek polyurethane film.
