When BMW e90 headlight restoration is needed
Among car light services, restoration of car optics occupies a special place. This includes internal cleaning of all headlight elements and polishing of the glass. In most cases, external polishing is sufficient, but sometimes the situation requires more thorough intervention, in particular, internal cleaning and polishing of the headlight glass.
This was precisely the case when the owner of a BMW e90 came to us.

Condition of BMW e90 headlights before restoration
Our car lighting service in Kyiv received two headlights from a BMW e90, which had noticeable internal contamination. Fine dust and deposits had accumulated inside the optics, and a slight cloudiness had appeared on the glass of both headlights.

At this stage, these problems were not yet critical for road lighting. However, delay could have led to much more serious consequences — complete clouding of the glass or irreversible damage to the chrome reflector of the BMW e90 halogen headlight.

The owner’s conscious approach to restoring the optics
The car owner understood well that internal contamination and loss of glass transparency were only a matter of time. Therefore, the correct decision was made to restore the BMW e90 headlights in advance, without bringing the situation to complete wear and tear of the optics or the need to replace them.

Opening the headlights and cleaning the internal elements
To solve the problem, the service specialists opened the car optics along the factory seam. A thorough internal cleaning of all headlight elements — the body, lens and reflectors — was performed, with complete removal of dust and dirt. After cleaning, the headlights were reassembled with a new sealed seam. We waited for the sealant to crystallise, after which we conducted a mandatory test to ensure there were no prerequisites for condensation after repackaging.

Glass polishing and SunTek film protection
After completing all checks, the specialists proceeded to sand and polish the outer part of the headlight glass. Thanks to the step-by-step processing, the glass surface was restored to a condition as close as possible to the factory one. The final stage was to cover the headlight glass with SunTek polyurethane film, which protects the optics from sand, small stones, ultraviolet radiation and premature wear.

Result: clean optics and restored light
After restoration, the BMW e90 headlights received a clean interior, transparent glass and reliable protection from external factors. The light became more uniform, the optics looked fresh, and their service life was significantly extended without the need for expensive replacement.
