Diagnostics and preparation for repair

A Mazda CX-5 arrived at our Car Light Design service centre with LED daytime running lights in the form of designer eyelashes installed in the headlights. At one point, the DRL stopped working on one side, and the car was left with one headlight without clearance lights. Replacing the entire headlight with a new one would have been significantly more expensive, so the owner decided to try to restore the LEDs.
Disassembly and search for the cause of the malfunction

During an external inspection, no fogging of the headlight was found, so the optics had to be disassembled for an accurate diagnosis. After removing the eyelash, we conducted a detailed inspection and determined the cause of the malfunction — the electronic LED controller had failed.
Restoring the DRL

The controller was repaired, after which the LEDs resumed operation. After reassembling the headlight, we checked for leaks and made sure there were no conditions for fogging. The optics are ready for use again.
