Why cracks in headlights are dangerous

The glass of both headlights on the KIA Magentis had deep cracks. Previous attempts to seal them only made the situation worse: the seal was not restored, and the headlights constantly fogged up. Condensation formed inside, which settled in drops on the reflectors and lenses, causing corrosion and gradual destruction of the electronic components.
When the headlight is completely covered with moisture from the inside, the light beam is scattered and hardly illuminates the road. This not only reduces driving comfort, but also creates a real danger at night or in the rain.
How the glass replacement was carried out

The car owner was aware of the seriousness of the problem and purchased new glass in advance. At the service centre, we started by dismantling the headlights, after which the specialists carefully unpacked the housings. This is an important step, as even a minor mistake can damage the internal elements of the optics. After disassembly, we carried out a complete cleaning — removing traces of condensation, dust and dirt that had accumulated over the years. Only then did we begin installing the new glass, using a high-quality sealant to ensure a tight and reliable seal.
Additional headlight protection

After installing the new glass, we tested the optics for leaks: we checked that no condensation appeared inside. The headlights were then returned to the car and covered with SunTek protective polyurethane film. This film creates a transparent barrier that protects the surface from scratches, chips and new cracks, which often occur due to gravel, sand or minor impacts on the road. Thus, the owner received not just a glass replacement, but a comprehensive restoration and protection of the optics for the future.
Result for the owner

After the repair, the KIA Magentis received completely renewed headlights that look like new. The seal has been restored, and there is no moisture or dust inside. The light output is clear and bright again, and the SunTek protective film will extend the life of the new glass.

Now the owner can be sure that the headlights will serve for a long time, will not fog up and will not lose transparency even under difficult operating conditions.
