When external polishing is no longer enough
When the car’s optics look tired or neglected, and the road illumination is noticeably deteriorating, there are a number of preventive procedures that can improve both the aesthetics of the headlights and their lighting characteristics.
In many cases, owners limit themselves to external polishing of the headlight glass. This does indeed give noticeable results, but sometimes it is not enough to fully restore the light.

Condition of Honda Accord 7 headlights before internal polishing
Our car lighting service received the optics of a Honda Accord 7, which had previously undergone restoration work — polishing of the glass from the outside. This work was carried out by a detailing studio, which is quite logical, since such studios work exclusively with the outer surface of the glass. External polishing had its effect — we can say that half the work was done. However, the condition of the headlight glass clearly required internal polishing, without which it is impossible to achieve a full restoration of light.

The actual condition of the inner surface of the glass
When the detailing studio specialists started polishing the headlights, they could not even imagine that, in addition to the matte outer surface, the inner side of the glass was in even worse condition. It is possible to bring the inner surface of the glass to the proper condition only after unpacking the headlight, which most detailing studios do not do for technical reasons.

Headlight disassembly and internal cleaning
Our service specialists unpacked the Honda Accord 7 optics along the factory seam to perform internal glass polishing and comprehensive cleaning.

In addition to bringing the inner surface of the glass into order, it was necessary to:
- clean the light module (lens);
- remove contamination from the chrome reflector;
- remove traces of dust and moisture accumulated over years of operation.

Internal polishing of the headlight glass
After thorough cleaning of the internal elements, internal polishing of the headlight glass was performed. The surface was gradually brought to a condition as close as possible to the factory light transmission characteristics. After polishing, the glass was cleaned of polishing paste residues, degreased and fixed to the headlight housing with sealant along the factory seam.

Assembly and leak test
After the headlight was assembled, the sealant was allowed to cure for the specified time. Next, the specialists performed a test to check for any conditions that could lead to internal condensation. After the test confirmed the tightness and correctness of the assembly, the optics were returned to the car owner.

Result
Internal polishing of Honda Accord 7 headlight glass allowed us to:
- restore the transparency of the glass from the inside;
- improve light transmission;
- increase the efficiency of lighting at night;
- complete the restoration of the headlights completely, rather than partially.
This procedure is especially relevant in cases where external polishing has already been performed, but the quality of light remains unsatisfactory.
