Overview
A car that was hit by a stone on the motorway in the headlight – the result is a crack in the glass and fogging of the headlight. The owner of this car decided to repair the headlight of his car himself, but unfortunately he did not succeed.
The adhesive used by our service is specially designed for headlight cracks. The owner decided that regular super glue might help repair the headlight glass, but did not take into account that such adhesives are designed for completely different materials.
Super glue is good for gluing, but not for headlight glass, where the temperature inside the headlight is quite high, and there is also exposure to sunlight, temperature changes, etc. Airflow also affects the integrity of the headlight glass crack.

A Mitsubishi Outlander XL arrived at our service centre in this condition. The headlight was already fogged up and needed to be disassembled. Our specialists disassembled the car headlight and cleaned the inside of the headlight unit. The glass had to be polished because super glue had spilled inside the glass and corroded the protective lacquer on the inside of the glass.

After the repair work, the car headlight was clean, dry and intact again! The crack in the glass will no longer bother the car owner, and the headlight has been checked for leaks. To protect against similar cracks, a protective film should be applied to the car's optics.
