When low beams function as parking lights
A Nissan Murano arrived at our service centre with a serious problem — the low beams were barely illuminating the road. It seemed that only the parking lights were working, and safety on the road was out of the question. During an external inspection, we noticed characteristic traces of condensation in one of the headlights. This was only the first sign that the optics needed detailed intervention.

Disassembly and initial findings
After dismantling the headlights, the cause of the fogging became apparent — small cracks in the glass. Moisture was getting inside through them, destroying the internal elements.

We also found that the light module was seriously contaminated. This further reduced transparency and light transmission.

The reason for the dim light: burnt-out lenses
The key problem was the reflectors of the standard 2.5-inch lenses. After disassembly, we saw that they were burnt out and could no longer perform their function. No amount of cleaning would help here.

Installation of new 3.0-inch bi-lenses
We decided to replace the outdated lenses with new 3.0-inch bi-lenses. The internal elements that needed to be preserved were thoroughly cleaned, and the crack in the glass was sealed. After assembling the optics, we conducted a control check for tightness to ensure that there was no re-fogging.

Polishing and protection
The final cosmetic step was polishing the headlight glass to restore its transparency. Then we applied a protective SunTek polyurethane film, which will preserve the result for a long time, protecting against UV radiation, scratches and chemical reagents.

Precise light adjustment
The last step is to adjust the new bi-lenses on the stand. We set the light-shadow boundaries in accordance with DSTU and EEC standards.

The difference was obvious — now the headlights provided high-quality road illumination, and driving at night became comfortable and safe.
