Overview
A common problem with Japanese cars is foggy headlights. The manufacturer puts sealant in the headlight block groove, which after 3-4 years simply does not cope with the tightness of the headlights. There is a solution to this problem!

Restoring the tightness of the headlight block with glass is possible in only one way — by repackaging the headlight. Do not rush to buy new or used headlights. Contact a specialised automotive optics service centre and they will help you restore your headlights! According to the owner, these headlights had been repaired several times. But they still collected condensation. The car owner emphasised that the headlights had been sealed four times in Kyiv and no one had been able to make them airtight.

Our service repaired the fogging headlights of a Subaru Forester. After removing the headlight, we saw the standard approach of many mechanics — the block seam was filled with silicone. This was nothing new for our team, and the silicone was completely removed from the headlight. After disassembling the car's headlight, we washed the glass and chrome elements and dried the headlight unit. The factory sealant was removed from the headlight unit's gutter. We applied a new high-quality sealant, reassembled the headlight to its factory condition and installed it on the car.

The only thing we couldn’t save was the original ignition block. It was simply flooded with condensation inside the headlight. This is because the ignition block is located at the very bottom of the headlight.
Fortunately, the car owner was prepared for such an unpleasant moment and provided his original block. We replaced the blocks and reassembled the car.
