When repairs are no longer enough
Our service centre received BMW e46 coupe optics with a complicated history: they had already been repaired after damage, the housings had been soldered, cracks had been glued, and the headlights had been reinstalled. But constant disassembly had left its mark, and the condition of the glass was nowhere near comparable to new.

The old glass looked worn out: cloudiness, scratches and scuffs significantly reduced transparency and affected the quality of light.

Why we chose replacement instead of another soldering
Yes, the glass could still be polished on both sides, but the housings were in much worse condition. Each new soldering reduces the strength of the plastic, and hitting a pothole or a minor accident could lead to another break.
Therefore, we decided to do a full ‘high-end’ restoration — install new housings and original glass. This option guarantees reliability and durability in further operation.

A new life for BMW e46 coupe optics
The service technicians carefully removed all the internal modules from the old headlights and then transplanted them into brand new housings. Next, they installed original glass and closed the optics. The final stage was to apply SunTek film, which provides protection against scratches and chips in the future.

Final result
Now the BMW e46 coupe has a ‘new shell with an old heart’: the headlights have retained their original modules, but have been given completely new housings and lenses. They look like they just came from the factory and will last much longer, unless they are damaged again in an accident.
