First inspection: headlight after flooding
We received a headlight from a Lexus IS 300 of American origin at our service centre. It was clear at first glance that the car had been flooded. Inside the headlight was a cloudy yellow liquid that had been there for months, not just days. The sight was so depressing that it was impossible to predict the outcome before disassembly: only a detailed study would show which elements could be saved and which were irretrievably damaged by moisture.

Disassembly and diagnostics
The headlight was completely disassembled into its component parts. This made it possible to assess the condition of the internal parts: electronics, reflectors, correctors and the xenon light module. The picture turned out to be quite complicated: moisture had penetrated almost everywhere, leaving behind dirt and traces of oxidation.

Cleaning the internal components
The next step was to thoroughly clean each part. Specialists removed traces of dirt, moisture and corrosion to restore the components to working order. Only then was it possible to conclude what could be reused and what would have to be replaced.

What we managed to save
Our thorough work yielded both good and bad news:
- The ignition unit was successfully restored and is working again.
- The headlight corrector is also back in working order.
- The xenon light module remained intact — it was saved by its location above the water level.
- However, the chrome high beam cup was damaged at the bottom.
This problem is not critical for operation, but it affects the appearance. To eliminate the defect in the future, it will be necessary to re-chrome or replace it with bi-lenses and paint the damaged part to match.

Assembly and final result
After analysis and cleaning, the headlight was assembled with a new sealed seam. We waited for the sealant to crystallise and tested for the absence of condensation inside. The result is a restored Lexus IS 300 headlight that is ready for use again, although additional work may be required for a complete restoration in the future.
