Problem with the headlights of a BMW X5 e53
The owner of a BMW X5 e53 contacted our car lighting service in Kyiv with a problem of insufficient road illumination. Externally, the headlights looked completely serviceable — the factory lensed optics for halogen lamps had no visible damage.
The owner tried to solve the problem on his own: he changed the bulbs and adjusted the headlights on a test bench, but this did not help. The light beam remained weak, blurred and incorrectly directed, which negatively affected comfort and safety when driving at night.

Diagnosis of halogen lenses and identification of the cause
After analysing the light projection, the service specialists conducted an additional check of the condition of the halogen lenses using an endoscopic camera. This type of diagnosis allows the actual condition of the internal elements of the module to be assessed without guesswork.
The check revealed an obvious problem — a worn-out and worn-out light module reflector, which was no longer able to form the correct light beam. This was the reason for the weak and chaotic light of the BMW X5 e53 headlights.

Choosing a solution: replacing halogen modules with bi-xenon
There were several options for restoring the light:
- replacing halogen lenses with similar factory ones;
- installing LED lenses;
- installing bi-xenon lenses.
After weighing all the options in terms of cost, efficiency, and reliability, the car owner opted for the installation of 3.0-inch bi-xenon lenses under the H1 lamp. This is the optimal solution, which allows for a significant improvement in light quality without excessive costs.

The process of replacing lenses in BMW X5 e53 headlights
Service specialists removed the standard halogen lenses and prepared the headlights for the installation of new modules. All work was carried out in accordance with technical standards to ensure the correct fit of the lenses and the proper functioning of the optics.

After that, new 3.0-inch bi-xenon lenses were installed in the headlights, which significantly surpass halogen modules in brightness, clarity and uniformity of the light beam.

Light adjustment and final result
After the lenses were installed, the xenon light was professionally adjusted on a specialised stand. This is a mandatory step that ensures proper light distribution and prevents glare for oncoming traffic. The light projection changed dramatically after the lenses were replaced: the beam became clear, even and predictable, and the illumination of the road surface became much more effective.
