Overview
A second-generation Honda CR-V arrived at our service centre with a classic problem — the headlights were barely working, especially in the rain or at night. The owner often drives out of town, where good lighting is critical, but the standard optics were no longer up to the task.

After diagnostics, we saw worn reflectors, scratches on the outer glass and contamination on the inside of the headlight glass. Instead of replacing all the optics, it was decided to carry out a comprehensive restoration.

Stages of work performed:
- Removal and disassembly of headlights. The headlights were carefully disassembled to access the internal surfaces and the lighting module.
- Polishing on both sides. We sanded and polished not only the outer part of the glass, but also the inner part to restore maximum transparency and remove micro-scratches and deposits.
- Upgrading the light module. We installed new-generation bi-xenon lenses with clear light distribution, which provide strong and accurate light without dazzling oncoming traffic.
- Optics protection. After assembly, the headlights were covered with polyurethane film to protect them from UV radiation, road chemicals, small gravel and scratches.

Before/After
The optics were adjusted on a test bench to ensure a clear light-shadow boundary and uniform illumination of the road surface. After all the work was completed, the headlights not only regained their factory transparency but also got a new lease of life. The light became bright, dense and safe for night-time driving. The car is once again ready for travel, both in the city and beyond.
