What happened to the glass of the Jaguar XKR headlights
The glass of the Jaguar XKR headlights was gradually worn down: micro-scratches formed, and the surface became slightly cloudy due to particles of sand and small stones that left marks. This reduced light transmission and made the headlights less attractive. Dust was found inside the optics on the lenses and other elements, which required deep cleaning of the Jaguar XKR optics. In addition, the owner decided to update the decorative inserts — to paint the chrome in matte black, only when the optics were opened.

Disassembly and diagnosis of internal components
We removed the headlights from the car, opened the housing, removed the lenses, reflectors, decorative elements and conducted their initial assessment. Each component was checked for integrity and readiness for cleaning.

Cleaning and painting decorative parts
Inside the headlights, the lenses, reflectors and module housings were washed. Decorative chrome inserts (masks) were carefully prepared and painted in a matte black shade. This added contrast inside the optics along with the transparent glass.

Assembly, sealing and polishing of glass
After preparation, the housing and glass were joined using a new sealant. When the seam dried, it was checked for fogging. The glass was first matted to smooth out scratches and then polished to transparency. Finally, SunTek protective film was applied to the glass for longer service life.
