Overview

A premium segment car with very poor factory lighting; this problem is not only found on Japanese cars, but also on many other car manufacturers. The owner of this car contacted us with a problem of poor lighting and fogging of the car’s headlights.

Lexus with adaptive optics, which has a swivel mechanism. These factory lenses cannot be replaced due to their design. More precisely, it is possible, but then we would lose the adaptive mechanism.

The solution was simple: install additional bi-xenon lenses in the high beam reflector and align the factory lenses with ours.
The car headlights were in this condition when they arrived at our service centre, with the headlights tinted to hide damage to the protective lacquer. After dismantling the car, we found that there were an incredible number of cracks in the headlight glass.
The car headlights first underwent complete glass repair, gluing and soldering of cracks. After that, the car optics were disassembled and we began to install bi-xenon lenses in the high beam reflector. While the masters were preparing the reflector, we polished the inside of the headlight glass. Unfortunately, the headlights had been disassembled previously, and the scratched protective coating inside the headlight glass was visible. After cosmetic work on the glass, all that remained was to install and connect the lenses, adjust the alignment, and reassemble the headlights. We installed 2.5-inch bi-xenon lenses for H1 bulbs with 55W ignition units. Our auto electrician connected the quad system with reprogrammed DRLs previously installed on the car bumper. All connections are made strictly according to the factory wiring, to the factory headlight pins. Our specialists do not cut the factory wiring! The final stage of the work was sanding and polishing the car headlights. After that, polyurethane film was applied to further protect the car optics from sand, stones or chemical influences.
Before/After

The level of the light-shadow boundary, headlight alignment and wiring were adjusted. Comparative photos of the light before and after the repair of the car optics with the installation of bi-xenon lenses in the high beam reflector. Preventive maintenance was performed on the factory lens, including cleaning the lens glass and lens reflector. We did not get much light from the factory lens, but we managed to achieve some increase in light output.
