Overview
This car has a very rich history and has no defects except for the optics. When it arrived at our service centre, the car’s headlights were not working. The car owner said that they had been working properly at first, but after an accident on the left side, the headlight stopped working. Most likely, the reason was clear — condensation inside the headlight. But the most interesting thing is that after a while, the right headlight also stopped working. The reasons for this are unclear.

After removing the headlights from the car, it turned out that the original ignition units were simply flooded with water and had oxidised. Accordingly, the two original units had to be replaced. While everything was clear with the left headlight, it was unclear how the right headlight unit was damaged. The headlights were removed from the body of the BMW, and the mountings on the damaged left side had to be replaced with almost new parts. The headlight units were disassembled and the glass was separated from the units. Our technicians replaced the standard lens and installed Galaxy Q5 3.0 inch bi-xenon lenses for D1S Philips bulbs. The car was originally manufactured with the same D1S base. Original Valeo ignition units were installed, and the headlights were reassembled to their original factory condition.

After assembly, the car headlights were sanded and polished. After that, polyurethane film was applied for further protection of the optics. While our craftsmen were installing bi-xenon lenses in the car headlights, our auto electrician solved the problem with the non-working comfort unit for turning on the headlights. No car is invincible, everything has been fixed and is ready to go!

Unfortunately, we were unable to remove the car's lights before replacing the standard lenses, as there were problems with the ignition units and the comfort unit, but after our service and all the repairs carried out, we took photos after replacing the factory lens on a BMW 1-series e87.
